Ruth Smeja

Ruth E. Smeja, 61, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, October 5, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 23, 1953 in Chicago to John and Olga (nee Syss) Baron.

Ruth loved her pets dearly, most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved cooking during the holidays.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, Lisa Baron, Mario (Marlene) Slaven and Steven (Renee) Smeja; grandchildren, Robert “RJ” Schroeder, Nathan and Sarah Smeja; sisters, Rose Crundwell and Jackie Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Smeja; son, Mathew Baron; brother, John Baron and parents.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 9pm with a funeral service at 7pm, Friday, October 9 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
