Port Barrington, Illinois,Samuel Hoffman Samuel Hoffman, 89, of Port Barrington, entered into eternal life Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in Crystal Lake. He was born in Wellsville, New York on January 23, 1921, the son of Samuel and Irene (nee LeBeau) Hoffman. Samuel was the owner of Darnel Industry in Elk Grove Village for nearly 40 years, loved to golf, bowl, ride a bike, and fly his Cessna. Samuel and his son built an Osprey, which they later sold. His survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dolores; children, Sandra (Dennis) Symbal, Diane Hoffman, Samuel Jr. (Christine) Hoffman; grandchildren, Denine Dudek, Dennis (Kelly) Symbal, Jodi James, Tony (Karen) James, and Tracy James; and great-grandchildren, Leah Symbal, Taylor and Ashleigh Dudek, Cameron and Audrey James. Visitation will be held from 4-9pm, Sunday, January 9 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held at 10am, Monday, January 10 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 2905 N Thatcher Rd, River Grove.
