Sandra Brady

Sandra Lee Brady (nee Miller), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 18, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was 74.

Born on May 8, 1941, Sandy was raised in Crystal Lake where her roots run deep. The daughter of Harold and Mary Loretto (O'Donoghue) Miller, Sandy was baptized at St. Thomas the Apostle, where she later received her First Communion and was confirmed. She graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1959.

Sandy married John Brady on February 11, 1961 at St. Thomas the Apostle and together they raised four daughters. She worked at Crystal Lake South High School in the English Department Resource Center, she retired in 2006. Sandy was a gifted seamstress, talented Bridge player, and devoted grandma to her eight grandchildren. She loved traveling in Europe and the Caribbean, riding her snowmobile in Northern Wisconsin near the family cabin and visiting 49 states.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann (Andre Bowdry) Brady, Ellen (Joseph Selby) Brady, Mary (Thomas) Edwards, and Seanine (Robert Reisenbuechler) Brady; grandchildren, Brigitte (fiance, Jonathan Kratenstein) Mueller, Nicole Edwards, Erich Mueller, Kevin Edwards, Benjamin Brady, Maggie Mueller, Quinn Brady, and Charles Edwards; sisters, Lorraine Egan and Shirley Oost; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband, John Brady; and sister, Rita Fitzgerald.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a procession to church where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
