Visitation for Sara Elizabeth Damgaard, nee Briggs, age 75, of Barrington Hills, will be held on Wednesday, July 6,2011, from 4-9pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7,2011, 12:30pm, at The Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 Brinker Road, Barrington Hills. Rev. Curtis Baxter will officiate. Interment to follow at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Born November 22,1935, in Galesburg, IL, she passed away on July 1,2011, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Sara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was formerly the PTA president and involved with Girl Scouts. She loved to cook, travel, garden, and play tennis.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ronald Damgaard, whom she married on October 5, 1957; loving daughters Laura Damgaard, Nancy (Scott) Wahl, and Paula (Paul) Guzzetta; cherished grandchildren Max, Eric and Jack Guzzetta, and Kelly and Katherine Wahl; and dear brother Judson Wilmot (Connie) Briggs III.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Dorothy Briggs, nee Dopp.
