Sara Marion Demitralis (nee Trippiedi), age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Sara was born on March 20, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois where she resided until she married in 1963. Shortly after marrying, she moved to the Northwest suburbs of Chicago where she raised her family. She spent her later years residing in Crystal Lake enjoying her days with her daughter and grandchildren. Sara lived her life with great love, peace and kindness which she shared in abundance with her family and friends. She was a selfless soul and always had a smile to share making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Sara was the beloved wife of the late John Demitralis to whom she was married for 45 years until his death in 2008. She was the loving mother of Georgia (Tony) Dugo, dear grandmother of Annabella and Alexia Dugo, loving daughter of the late Calogero and the late Matilda (nee Muratore) Trippiedi, fond sister to the late Frank (Lorraine) Trippiedi, fond sister-in-law to the late Manolis and the late Mary (nee Demitralis) Mastropulos, and loving aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Sara will be held on Monday, January 27th, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014, then driving in procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:30 a.m. Committal Service to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
