Scott Edson McKinney

Scott E. McKinney was born September 9, 1958 in Urbana, IL to Gloria and Luther McKinney. He passed away suddenly at his home on March 28, 2022.

Scott was an animal lover who excelled at training horses. One of his favorite horses, Dot, went on to win many awards in local quarter horse competitions. As a young man he competed in Motocross Motorcycle Racing and in later years loved taking long country drives and exploring the many parks in Illinois and Wisconsin. An artist at heart, Scott taught himself how to draw and to play the guitar. He had a passion for all kinds of music, especially classic rock, Mozart and Beethoven. Scott worked at the
family nursery, Country Corners, where he enjoyed growing plants, flowers, and trees. A kind and gentle soul, Scott was a devoted and loving son, brother and uncle. He will truly be missed by all.

Scott is survived by his mother, Gloria McKinney; sisters, Karyn (Jeff Church) McKinney and Beth (Mark) Ritchie; and niece, Laura Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther C. McKinney.

Services for Scott will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
