Scott Eric Sweet

Scott E. Sweet, 42, of Gilberts, passed away January 22, 2019.  He was born in Dallas, TX during an ice storm on January 10, 1977 to David and Karen (nee Johnson) Sweet.

Scott was a 1995 graduate of Crystal Lake Central then went on to Illinois State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  He pursued a career in banking and finance.

Scott married Heather Golda September 14, 2002 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake.  Scott adored their daughters, Taylor and Kendall.  He loved throwing parties and spending time with his family and friends.  He also loved Chicago sports, especially the White Sox and Bears.  Scott’s warm, caring and outgoing personality will be missed by so many.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Heather; his daughters, Taylor and Kendall; parents, David and Karen Sweet; sister, Kristin (John) White; mother-in-law, Charmaine Golda; sister-in-law, Heidi (Chris) Schuler; brother-in-law, Michael Golda; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a large extended family who he loved dearly.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Adolph Johnson and Helen and Edward Sweet; uncle, Keith Steckler; and father-in-law, Michael Golda.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, January 27, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.   A funeral will be Monday, January 28, at 11am with a visitation starting at 9am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake.  Burial will be at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
