Scott “Scottie” Wiora passed away peacefully at his home in O’Brien, Oregon on January 12, 2021 at the age of 30.

He was born July 30, 1990 in Elk Grove Village, the son of Donald J. Wiora, Jr. and Patricia Wiora Ziarkowski (nee Hines).

Scottie walked his own path and ventured around the country meeting people who became friends. Many were in attendance at his Oregon wake held January 16 in a place he loved – Six Mile Day Park.

An avid music fan, Scottie traveled to concerts either hitchhiking or hopping a freight train with his beloved girlfriend Lindsey Dennison. The Grateful Dead among other bands Scottie most identified with. Scottie met Lindsey after working as a deck hand in Rockland, Maine aboard the schooner “Heritage” in 2011.

Friends and family were more important than worldly possessions; a go-to guy who would help you no matter time of day or night. Friend or stranger, Scottie was first to give the shirt off his back.

Scottie will be missed by friends and family, but most especially by his two dogs, Blackie and Jambalia.

Scottie will be dearly missed by his parents, Donald J. Wiora, Jr. and Patricia (Ted) Wiora Ziarkowski (nee Hines); his brother, Bryan; fiancée, Lindsey Dennison; grandmother, Patricia Hines (nee Collins); aunts and uncles, Robert (Debbie) Hines, Linda (Tom) Hines Hourihan, and Lisa (Donnie) Hines Sloan; and his cousins; Matthew (Markie) May, Amanda May, Daniel (Taylor) Hourihan, and Timothy (Angie) Hourihan.

He was preceded in death by Donald J. Wiora, Sr., MaryJane Wiora, and Robert W. Hines.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Larsen Park, Lake in the Hills, at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scottie’s memory to your favorite animal shelter.
