Shirley Cornell

Shirley H. Cornell, 87, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Central DuPage Hospital from complications of a stroke.

She was born on June 26,1924 in Conroy, Iowa to Clarence and Minnie Hall.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake and a long-time member of Crystal Lake Country Club.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stephen H. Cornell; daughter Pamela (Steve) Smith; grandsons, Cass and Kyle of Southern California; brother Bruce Hall of Dundee; a special family member Gretchen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, a brother, and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 21 followed by a visitation ending at 1 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Following the visitation, there will be a celebration of Shirley's life at the Crystal Lake Country Club beginning at 1:30 p.m.
