Shirley Ann King

Shirley Ann King, 72, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully December 17, 2021 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington.  She was born May 26, 1949 in Augusta, AR to James Neil and Willene Ferguson.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Beatrice Achterberch; son, Marcus Ferguson; son-in-law, Frank Achterberch; daughter-in-law, Donna Ferguson; grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Diaz, Jeremy, Kenneth, and Keondra; and siblings, Patrick, Derryl, and Ronald Ferguson and Belinda Echols.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles King.

God Saw You Getting Tired
In tears we saw you sinking,
we watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
you fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage,
you felt your hope descend.
But still you kept on fighting
until the very end.
God saw you getting tired
when a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
So when we saw you sleeping,
so peaceful, free from pain,
we could not wish you back
to suffer that again.
