Sonja Anderson
October 31, 1944 — August 26, 2016
Sonja K. Anderson, 71, of Lake Zurich, passed away August 26, 2016. She was born in Chicago on October 31, 1944 to Gunnar and Dorothy (nee Carlson) Carlson.
Sonja was a graduate of Niles East High School. On September 30, 1967 she married the love of her life and soul mate, Robert Malcom Anderson. Together they raised two daughters, Jenny and Katie, and lived life to the fullest. She loved being a grandmother, reading, animals, golfing, and traveling the world with Robert. She also enjoyed supporting the less fortunate through Heifer International and Uddami, India.
Besides her husband, Sonja is survived by her daughters, Jennifer, of Washington DC and Katherine (Paul) Stringini, of Shannon, IL; and grandchildren, Caleb, Jared, Derrick, Gene Paul, Lynn, Micah, Isaac, and Settimio Stringini. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life service has been set for 11:30 AM, Wednesday, August 31st, with a time of visitation beginning at 10 AM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 485 Woodstock St., Crystal Lake.
