Stanley J. Rocko, 57, formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at his cousin’s home in Lakemoor.

He was born September 21, 1955, in Chicago, to the late Michal and Jadwiga (nee Farbotko) Rocko.

Raised and educated in Chicago, Stanley attended Lane Tech High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree, magna cum laude, from DePaul University, where he majored in accounting. He was also a CPA.

Stanley had a successful career for many years as a programmer at Occidental Petroleum. A true gentleman and a wonderful man, Stan was always there for his family, friends, and neighbors. If anyone needed anything, Stanley never hesitated to help. Stan had a strong faith in God, enjoyed his study of the Bible, and shared his faith in online forums.

A loving brother and uncle, he will be dearly missed by his family. Survivors include his brothers, Chester (Patricia) Rocko of Johnsburg and Thomas (Teresa) Rocko of Carpentersville; and nephews and nieces, Michael (Sylwia), Jadzia, Joseph, and Thomas Rocko.

The visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday, June 21, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.

Prayers will be said at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 22, at the funeral home with a procession to Resurrection Catholic Church, 2918 South Country Club Rd., Woodstock, for a 10 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Memorial Masses in Stanley’s name appreciated.
