Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (nee Ketcham); children, Julie (Geoff) Kamin, John Yaney, Lisa (John) Arnold, and Joe (Nicki) Yaney; and grandchildren, Ally, Tyler, Nora, Mackenzie, Ben, and Kate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances Yaney, his sister Mary, and his brother Robert.

Stanley faced combat serving with the U.S. Army in the European theatre during WWII. He graduated with an engineering degree from Ohio State University and later received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He worked for IBM for most of his professional career. After retirement he opened Yaney’s Fried Chicken in Elgin.

Services for Stanley will be held privately. Memorial donations in his name may be made to a food pantry of your choice.
