Stanton P. Serwitz, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 26, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Stanton was born in Chicago, IL on June 7, 1941. An incredible man who lived life to the fullest. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, archery, and ending the day with a cold beer. A friend to all; There wasn't a sport he didn't play or a hobby he didn't master. He was a private pilot and founding partner of Blue Skies Pilot Shop. He was a proud soldier and patriot. His love of country is only second to the love of his family. His legacy is passed on through every activity he touched.
Stanton is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sharon Serwitz (nee Bray); children, Cindy (Jim) Wendlandt, Daniel (Jen) Serwitz, and Perry (Jenny) Serwitz; grandchildren, Jake, Sarah, Miranda, Emily, Michael, Marquette, Andrew & Allie.
Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Bernice Serwitz; and Sister Anita Boyd.
A memorial visitation for Stanton will be held from 3pm until the time of service at 6pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanton’s name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project , Tunnels To Towers , or Alzheimer's Association .
