Stephan Douglas Burks

Stephan D. Burks passed away peacefully January 27, 2022 in DeKalb, IL.  He was born September 1, 1956 in Memphis, TN to Hal D. Burks, Jr. and Doris Burks.

Steve was the Director of Building and Grounds at St. Viator High School for over 40 years.

Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maggie; children, Rob, Rick, and Rebecca (Pablo); 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Camille “Cassandra”; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, James Mulvihill; and brother, Phil.

Visitation will be 3pm – 7pm, Thursday February 3 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.  The funeral service will be at 11am, Friday, February 4 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow.
