Stephen E. Krueger

Stephen E. Krueger, 62, of Crystal Lake passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with colon cancer.  He was born in Chicago on January 9, 1956 to Donald and Marlene (nee Holmes) Krueger.

Stephen married Christine Lang on June 25, 1988 at Faith Lutheran Church in Barrington Hills. Together they raised two children, Evan and Jessica, in Crystal Lake.

Stephen was known by his family and friends as a hard-working, reliable and passionate man.  He left a lasting impression on many lives and will be deeply missed.  Stephen worked in the construction industry as a concrete foreman.   He enjoyed playing hockey, WWII history and reenactment, antique trucks, and tackling a multitude of projects in his barn.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Evan and Jessica (Brent) Eggers; parents, Donald and Marlene; brothers, Scott (Kim) and  Stanley (Diana); many nieces and nephews; and his beloved companion, Oakley.

A memorial visitation will be held Monday, July 30, from 4 pm until 8 pm with a service to start at 7:15 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.
