Stephen "Steve" J. Brooks

Stephen J. Brooks, 77, of McHenry passed away peacefully on December 6, 2022. He was born on July 17, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Kenneth and Anna Brooks.

Stephen was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He had a heart of gold and was a compassionate friend to all he met, whether human or animal. He was a true animal lover and loved caring for his dog, horses, and chickens.

Stephen will be remembered as a selfless person who was always willing to help another out, his big heart and giving nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his sister, Kathy Brooks of Mundelein; his former wife, Sharri (Terry) Brooks Upton; several nieces and nephews; and by his furry companion, Willow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Connie, Annie, Ken and Albert.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1 PM until the 3 PM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Interment will be private.
