Steven "Lance" Lawrenz

Steven “Lance” Lawrence, 70, of Crystal Lake, passed away on November 19, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1954, in Chicago to Harold and Dolores (Townsley) Lawrenz.

Lance married Barbara Maro on October 23, 1982 at St. Mary’s Church in Buffalo Grove, and together they raised two children, Crystal Lawrenz of Texas and Alan Lawrenz of Illinois.

Lance's career at Northrop Grumman in Rolling Meadows spanned 32 years. He loved spending time outdoors, working in his yard, riding motorcycles, camping, traveling, and flying his drone. A dedicated Cub Scout leader and Cub Master, Lance positively influenced many young lives.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Crystal and Alan; and his extended family, including his mother-in-law, Waunita Maro; brothers-in-law, Al (Jane) Maro, Greg (Kim) Maro, Bob (Barb) Maro, and Steve (Patti) Maro; sister-in-law Rhonda (Kevin) Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dolores Lawrenz and his father-in-law, Robert Maro. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
