Steven James Wilson, 73, of Crystal Lake, was born October 18, 1943 in Chicago to Irving and Louise (nee Wappner) Wilson. He passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Libertyville.
Steve was married 51 years to his high school sweetheart Dolly, father of two, grandfather of four. He graduated from Lane Tech High School, Northwestern University, University of Chicago School of Business. He was an accomplished Mechanical Engineer who is named in three patents. He is a follower of Christ at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Dolly will remember him as her best friend and traveling partner. His children will remember him as a passionate teacher, life coach and man of God. His grandchildren will remember him as an astronomer, teacher of the cosmos, builder/ fixer of all things and a person who encouraged them to pursue things they love.
Steve is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dolly” (nee Vogel) Wilson; his children, Keir (Lori) Wilson and Christian (Jennifer) Wilson; his grandchildren, Isaac, Lindsey, Scarlett, and Caleb; his brother, Keith (Margaret “Marge”) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 6pm until time of funeral service at 8pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
