Susan Hulet

May 1, 1955 — December 26, 2021

Davenport Barrington

Our beloved Sue went to be with Jesus on December 26, after 17 months of fighting an endless number of Covid complications. In her time on earth. Sue devoted herself to Christ and His command to Love Thy Neighbor. Every moment in her life was spent loving others. She was known to donate her time, money, and heart to countless friends, family members, and even strangers. It is a testament to her character that Susan has been continuously described as kind, welcoming, and loving by those pouring out their sympathies and memories since her passing.

Sue was born to Joan and Eugene Marohl in Oshkosh, WI. It was here that she grew up and made many memories that she lovingly shared with her children and their friends. From running Chinese Firedrills to recounting the time she met the murderer Ed Gein, Susan lived a life of adventure and joyful spontaneity that will be a source of stories for years to come—and that's just how she would want it. She obtained a degree in Social Work and went on to serve many different populations within the field. Eventually, she moved to Illinois, where she met her future husband when she began a job working as a security guard. (Though as Dave recalls, Sue once told him she would never use her gun).

Joy and peace emanated from Sue. No matter what challenges she was facing, she was found asking others how they were, replying that she was, "just peachy", and telling people, "God has a plan"

Sue joins her fathers, Eugene Marohl and Eugene Annis in Heaven. She leaves behind her husband Dave Hulet; children, Zach Hulet and Kelsey (Aaron) Potter; Granddaughter, Lily Potter; Mother, Joan Annis; Siblings Dottie (Glen) Durrant, Bob (Renee) Marohl, Gene Marohl, Brian (Sherri) Annis, and Kevin Annis; Brother-in-law, Mitch (Janet), Hulet; Mother-in-law, Inez Hulet, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Sue's family has asked that we honor her memory the way she would have wanted, by donating to a cause close to her heart.

The four organizations suggested by her loved ones are:

Toa Tumaini Foundation, Inc. - A nonprofit her daughter founded, providing education to children in need in Tanzania.

International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (Specifically the Isaiah: 58 Program)- A charity recently on her heart, providing support to elderly, jews, and holocaust survivors in Ukraine and Israel.

Alz Association - Support and research to Alzheimer's Disease, due to her work with the elderly and family experience.

Prison Fellowship - Helping those impacted by incarceration get access to Bibles and find Christ.
