Suzanne Gavars

Suzanne “Suzy” Gavars, 47, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016. She was born on December 18, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois.

Suzy was a member of Lutheran Church of Atonement in Barrington, long-time board member of the Barrington Swim Club, and a USA Swimming Official. Professionally, Suzy was the owner of ME Logistics, a transportation brokerage company.

Suzy will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 22 years, Butch Gavars; her children, Samantha “Sam” and Mitchell “Mitch” Gavars; her mother, Barbara Jean (James) Orrico; her father, Richard Frederick (Marilyn) Schumann III; her siblings, Richard Frederick Schumann IV, Robert (Heather) Schumann, Sandra (Carlos) Santiago; her maternal and paternal grandmothers, Ada Virginia Gilberg and Doris Schumann; her nieces, Olivia and Leona Santiago, Leah and Ellie Schumann. Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Monday, February 15, 2016, from 3PM until 8PM at Lutheran Church of Atonement, 909 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.) Barrington, IL 60010. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 16, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Lutheran Church of Atonement. Interment will be private.
