Sylvia Emma Louise Junge, 94, of Barrington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. She was born March 2, 1920 to Emil and Selma (nee Oehlerking) Busse in Des Plaines, IL. On August 1, 1948 she married Waldo Junge. They made Des Plaines their home until moving to Barrington in 1997 to be closer to their daughter. They were married for 56 years before Waldo’s passing in 2004.
Sylvia was active in her church and her faith was an inspiration to her family. Her loving way, great family dinners, and simple unquestioning love will be greatly missed by all.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Gwen (Dennis) Eatherton, Linda (David) Grass, and Roger (Vicky) Junge; grandchildren: Erika Eatherton (David Tipton), Kristen (Jake) Mason, Brett (fiancé Arielle Mikos) Eatherton, Brian Eatherton, Sarah (Eric) Sallinger, Laura (Rich) Hook, Erin (Clint) Evans, Andrew Grass, Jack Junge, Jesse Adler, and Casey Adler; great-grandchildren, William and Amelia Tipton, Genevieve and Owen Mason, Grace, Wyatt, and Claire Evans, and soon-to-be born and Sylvia’s namesake, Emma Louise Sallinger; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband and parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilfred and Wallace Busse.
Visitation will be on January 3rd, from 10am until the time of the funeral at 12 noon at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 740 Dundee Ave, Barrington, IL 60010. Sylvia will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
