Ted Siela

Ted L. Siela, 69, of Palatine passed away peacefully on July 13, 2016. He was born on July 8, 1947 in Lafayette, IN to Harold and Margaret (nee Dunn) Siela.
Ted was an avid basketball fan, both playing and watching his favorite team Indiana University. He was science fiction fan, particularly of Star Trek and Dr. Who. He enjoyed dancing, performing karaoke, reading books and loved Halloween contests. Family was very important to him and he spent time doing genealogy.
Ted will be deeply missed by his loving life-partner of 20 years, Sally Hobein; his children, Derek Siela of Columbus, OH; Leah (Tim) Lenz of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Elias and Caitlin Lenz; brother, Richard (Glenda) Siela. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, July 15, from 4 PM until 8PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 16 from 9 AM until time of service at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church, 123 N. Plum Grove Rd., Palatine. All are invited to go directly to church on Saturday. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
