Terrence "Terry" Loftus

Terrence J. Loftus, 65 of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 16, 1957 in Chicago, IL.

Terry graduated from Western Illinois University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business. He spent most of his working years with the Pipefitters Union 597.

Terry will always be remembered for his love of life, his perfectly manicured yard, sense of humor, dedication to the White Sox and his willingness to help everybody.  Anyone that knew Terry was touched by his kindness, generosity, and gusto for life.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Valarie (nee Tuttle) Loftus; sons, Brennan (Ellie) Loftus of Frederick, Co and Connor (Carlena Martinho) Loftus of Oakland, CA; siblings, Tom (Trish) Loftus, Mary (Craig) Sellman, Tim (Shelley) Loftus, Jerry (Gina) Loftus, Ann (Tom) Schulte, Trish (Carolyn Cobb) Loftus, Jeanne (Brad) Stevens and Dan (Dawnelle) Loftus; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; dog, Stella and hundreds of people whose lives he impacted over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Bernadine (nee Sullivan) Loftus.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E. Main St., Barrington. Luncheon to follow.
