Thomas M. Aquilina

Thomas M. Aquilina, 78, of Crystal Lake passed away May 25, 2021.  He was born in San Francisco, CA on February 8, 1943 to Thomas J. and Ann (Azzopardi) Aquilina.

Thomas was heavily involved over the years in the Crystal Lake community.  He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he volunteered on the school and church boards along with being a Eucharistic Minister.   Tom was also devoted to the seniors of McHenry County serving on the boards of Senior Services Associates, Horizon for the Blind, and Senior Care Volunteer Network. He was most proud of his involvement with the Crystal Lake Park District as Commissioner for over 10 years.

As a lifelong San Francisco 49’ers and Giants fan, Tom also had a rediscovered passion for reading especially by author, James Patterson, in his retirement. His charismatic personality will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his wife, Claudia; children, Todd (Jennifer) Aquilina, Traci (Tom) Schmidt, Byron Brevick, and Kimberly (Saikartik) Sennerikuppam; his beloved four grandchildren, Matthew, Eli, Noah and Kinsley; and his siblings, Shirley (William) Ames and Stephen (Lucina) Aquilina.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 29th from 3pm until the time of a service at 6pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.   A zoom link will be available for those who cannot attend the service in person.
