Thomas James Casey,89, of Barrington Hills, passed away, May 16, 2011 in Barrington.

He was born to Thomas and Agnes (nee Gaffney) Casey, on September 18,1921, in Brooklyn, New York.

Thomas served his country during World War II as a Naval Engineering Officer. In 1959 he founded Thomas Engineering, a leading supplier of equipment to the Pharmaceutical Industry. He enjoyed time with his family, golf, fishing, and playing Gin with his friends at Barrington Hills Country Club. During his last days before his death he was surrounded by his family, friends and loving care givers, Albert and Sara.

Thomas is survived by his children, Kevin Casey, Norine (Tracey) Powell, Christine Casey and Brian (Mary) Casey; grandchildren, Brian, Brendan, Timothy, and Eileen Casey, Anna Milek, Catherine LeFloc’h, Laura, Julie and James Casey, Bridget and Patrick Friske; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan and Sean Casey and Ellie Milek; sisters, Florence Farrell and Rosemary Casey.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Norma; daughter Sheila Casey Friske; sisters, Jeanette Riggins and Elizabeth Casey.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm., Thursday May 19,2011, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL, 60010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 20,2011, at 10am, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Barrington, IL, 60010 with the burial to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery in Palatine.
