Thomas F. Fitch, 73, of Barrington Hills passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015. He was born February 24, 1942 in Fayette County Lexington, KY to Thomas and Mary (nee Jordan) Fitch.
Tom attended Henry Clay High School and went on to graduate from Transylvania University in 1965. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He married Victoria Reinhardt on September 16, 1967. They were married 38 years before her passing in 2005.
Tom was a flying and blue grass music enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, trail riding, and was an active outdoorsman. He was a Thoroughbred owner and breeder throughout his lifetime and loved Thoroughbred racing. Lexington, KY was Tom’s second home and spent a lot of time there through the years. He was a proud supporter of his church, St. Anne in Barrington, and many charities.
Survivors include his children, Virginia Boo Fitch of Penhook, VA, Heather(Edward) Haibt of Parker, CO, and Mike (Laura) Fitch of Barrington; grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor; and sister, Cecelia (Doug) Henshaw of Decatur, AL.
Besides his wife, Vicki, Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 22, at 12 noon with a visitation starting at 10 am at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St. (not Ela Rd.), Barrington.
Services will also be held in Lexington (times to be determined) before the burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lexington, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
