Barrington, Illinois,The Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas John Kay, 75, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010, at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin Street), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Father Fred Licciardi will officiate. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary. Visitation will also take place from 3-9 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Born July 11, 1935, in Chicago, he died peacefully Tuesday, August 3, 2010, surrounded by his family at the Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care, Barrington. Mr. Kay served in the Navy as a Draftsman Third Class during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work as a carpenter and enjoyed gun collecting, hunting, bowling, and worldwide travel. He was a longtime member of the Cragin Drifters SAC and St. Anne Church. Survivors include his wife, Wilma (nee Strahota), whom he married June 3, 1961, in Chicago; sons, Thomas W. (Deborah Stonich) Kay of Forest Park, Robert Kay of Portland, OR, and Steven Kay of Las Vegas; and sister, Roberta (Tom) Brodin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas K. and Stephanie (nee Pawlikowski) Kay; and sister, Delores (Peter) Roszkowski.
