Thomas Walter McFadden, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 18 2015 at his home.
He was born March 5, 1962 in Aurora to Terrence and Judy (nee Palmer) McFadden.
Tom was an excellent mechanic who excelled in perfection in every project he took on. He loved cars and was proud to own some that would be considered classic muscle cars today. He also loved stock car racing and boating.
Tom’s biggest motivation was helping family, friends, and people in general. He had the gift of conversation and could make a stranger feel like a well-known friend. He worked for Seaquist in Cary for 20 years until he was unable to continue.
Tom was a late effects patient - the medical term used for adult childhood cancer survivors, first becoming ill at age 13 with Hodgkin’s. Many times Tom was asked to write a book on all his unbelievable medical experiences. His outlook was always upbeat even during the most trying of times. Tom’s humor, smile, compassion, and love of life will be so very missed by so many people.
Tom is survived by his mother, Judy McFadden; his daughter, Ashley McFadden; sister, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Burns; nephew, Matthew Burns; and many loved relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terrence McFadden.
The visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt 176) Crystal Lake.
