Thomas Erik-Wilhelm Wessel, 52, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Packwaukee, Wisconsin. He was born on November 24, 1957 in Skelleftea, Sweden to Bernt and Karin (Ericksson) Wessel. On September 21, 1986 he and Kelly Kloker were united in marriage in West Dundee, Illinois. He received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Balders Skolans Gymnasium in Skelleftea, Sweden and was employed as Director of Sales at Ursviken, Inc. Thomas was an avid skier, Blackhawk fan and loved his lake home on Lake Buffalo, Wisconsin. His survivors include his beloved wife of almost 24 years, Kelly Wessel of Crystal Lake; his loving daughter, Kirstin Wessel of Crystal Lake; his devoted father, Bernt Wessel of Skelleftea, Sweden; his dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kim and David Crowe of New Braunfels, Texas; his adored nephews, Matthew and Alexander Crowe of New Braunfels, Texas; his cherished mother-in-law, Margaret Kloker of Elgin; and many, many treasured friends, near and far. Preceding him in death were his mother, Karin Wessel and father-in-law, Gordon H. Kloker. The memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 18 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Kelly and Kirstin will take Tom?s remains to his home country of Sweden where he will be remembered by family and friends, and finally laid to rest near his mother at Asklund in Sweden. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Kirstin Wessel's education are greatly appreciated and may be sent to the family?s home; she is a second year student at the University of Illinois.
