Valerie Solger

Cary, Illinois,Valerie J. Solger (nee Kottke), 53 of Cary Visitation will be held from 4 until 8p.m. Friday Jan. 7 at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St, Barrington. Funeral service will be held 10a.m. Saturday Jan. 8 at the funeral home. Entombment in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary. Born Jan. 15, 1957 in Evanston to Fredrick and Lillian Kottke, she passed away Wednesday Jan. 5 in Barrington. Valerie graduated from John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights in 1975 and worked in Sales and Distribution for various companies. Valerie's favorite activity was shopping. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Sparrows Nest and other resale shops in the area. Valerie is survived by her husband Richard, whom she married on May 12, 1989; her children Pamela, Andrew, Chris, and Sara, father Fredrick, sisters Linda (George) Wolf, and Pat Heider, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian and her brothers Fred and Larry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
