WOODSTOCK—Vella Paulsen Houde,88, of Hearthstone Manor, formerly of Woodbridge, CT, died Sunday, October 14,2012, at the Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington.
She was born January 2,1924, in Derby, CT, to the late Anton and Metta (nee Hansen) Paulsen. She married the late Robert Houde on August 17, 1964.
Mrs. Houde loved knitting, animals (especially dogs), traveling, and spending time on her farm in Connecticut.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Richard) MacHarg of Evantston; Heather Williams of Woodstock, Metta Williams of Seattle, WA, Kate (Virgil) Hughes of Evanston, and Rose (Ted Lohman) MacHarg of Crownsville, MD; great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Ian Dawdy; and brother, Burton Paulsen of Madison, CT.
The memorial service and inurnment will be private.
