Velma M. Villarreal

Velma M. Villarreal, of Lakewood, passed away with her loving family at her side on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the age of 60.

She was born February 15, 1959, the daughter of the late Gustavo and Maria (nee Mata) Villarreal.

For 25 years, Velma worked as a cashier for Jewel-Osco in Crystal Lake. Additionally, she was a waitress for her family’s restaurant, La Tejanita in Woodstock.

Velma was the loving mother of James F. Norton, III, Shanna (Mike Burrell) Norton and Sean M. Norton; the cherished grandmother of Callie Rose, James IV, Lettie V., Charlie, Benjamin, and Bridget; and sister of Gus Villarreal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sylvia and Gilda.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, May 19, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.
