Vernon Robert Roewer, of Cary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017; just 6 days shy of his 80th birthday.
He was born June 6, 1937 in Crystal Lake to the late Frederic John and Sophie Bertha (nee Geske) Roewer.
Vern married Karen Geske on July 21, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake. Their vows were witnessed by Konrad Oker Sr. and the late Jean Geske whom were married soon after.
He enjoyed the outdoors riding motor cycles and fishing. He and Karen spent many years camping in Wisconsin, Illinois and then Texas.
In addition to Karen, his loving wife, Vernon will be dearly missed by his children, Loretta (Joseph) Kreppel, Juanita Roewer, Valerie (Kevin) Hein, Nadine (Brett) Meseure, and Kevin (Patty) Roewer; his cherished grandchildren, Britney (Jason) Love, Elizabeth (Ryan) Kirkpatrick, Samantha (Brian) Alberts, Chris Ross, Stephanie (Justin) Condon, Heather Hein, Ryan Roewer, Jeffery Roewer, Tiffanie Roewer, and Danielle Roewer; his beloved great-grandchildren, Seth Thomas, Austin, Daniel and Damien Ross, Logan, Lukas, and Olivia Condon, Lillie Roewer, and Remus Kirkpatrick; and his siblings, Ronald Roewer, Fredrick (Nancy) Roewer, Betty Weyrauch, David Roewer, William (Judy) Roewer, and Dennis (Carol) Roewer.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5th from 4 pm until the time of a service at 7 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. Urn burial will be Friday, June 9th, at 2 pm at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
