Veronica Spears

Veronica A. Spears, 80, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Park Ridge. She was born on October 10, 1936 in Chicago to Leo and Valerie (nee Pasowicz) Zeffield.
Veronica was a single mother, who raised three children on her own. She was the driving force for the recognition of Pulaski Day. Veronica most enjoyed taking rides with her grandchildren and snuggling with them in bed.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Kelly, Richard (Teresa) Spears, and Danny (Tammy) Spears; her grandchildren, Kevin and Catherine Kelly, Laura (Joseph) Barlo, Matthew (Deanna) Spears, Corey Spears, Kayla (Jacob) Morris, and Amy Spears; her great grandchildren, Ava, Gianna, Lindsey, Sean and two soon to be born; and her siblings, James (Debbie) Zeffield, and Daniel Zeffield.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, David Spears; and her siblings, Mildred Crail and Leo Zeffield.
The family will receive guests from 3-9pm, Friday, April 14, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral service will be held at 12pm, Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Little Sisters of the Poor.
