Vicki Solare

Victoria Ann Solare, of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the age of 72. 

She was born March 20, 1952 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Vito and Rosemary (nee Iacobellis) Faruzzi.

Vicki was a loving wife,mother,sister and friend. She and Joe were together for 53 years. They built a wonderful life together. They enjoyed going for long drives, finding new places to eat or explore. They always enjoyed going to Vegas, the slot machines, shows and dining. 

She enjoyed always having a garden and maintaining her flowers and house plants. She had a envious green thumb”. Christmas was her favorite time of year. So many memories of us going downtown for lights, dinner and a show. Growing up, mom was always our biggest cheerleader, at every sporting event we had. Even when Gia was growing up, mom was her biggest fan. She loved being a grandma, Gia was her world. 

Mom was our center, she held us all together. She has always enjoyed working. When we were kids, she worked at the school, when we got older, she worked at the hospital. And then with my dad at our family business. Mom was our world, a best friend, funny and truly a lovely person. Always in our corner. You knew she was always there for you and everyone in her life. She is so loved and cherished by many and she will be missed so much by all of us!

Vicki is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph Solare; her children, Danielle (AJ) Fallico and Christopher (Michelle) Solare; her granddaughter, Gia Schipani; her brothers, Mark and Mike Faruzzi; sister-in-law, Betty Faruzzi; and her niece, Sam Faruzzi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Faruzzi.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S Old Rand Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. The funeral service will be held the following day, Sunday, February 2nd, at 12:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
