Violet Swanson

Violet M. Swanson, 90, of McHenry, passed away September 21, 2015. She was born in Chicago on May 26, 1925 to the late Oscar and Viola Ahlstrand.
On November 16, 1946 she married Leonard Swanson. They were married 59 years before his passing on July 4, 2005. They enjoyed summers at Powers Lake, WI. Violet was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining.
Violet is survived by her children, Jeff (Nancy) Swanson, Larry (Lynette) Swanson, Holly (Jack) English, and Julie (Tim) Smith; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and sisters-in-law, Lillian Schmid and Judy Ahlstrand.
Besides her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by her brother, George Ahlstrand.
A Celebration of Violet’s Life will be held at a later date.
