Virginia Michalek

Inverness, Illinois,Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Bernice Michalek, 83, of Inverness, will be held on Monday, January, 31, 2011, at 10:30am, with visitation from 9:30am until the time of Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30 2011, from 4-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington. Born December 7, 1927, in Chicago, she passed away on January 27, 2011 in Inverness. Virginia loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed bowling and playing tennis. She also played the piano and accordion, and was an animal lover. Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years John "Jack" Michalek, whom she married on September 24, 1965; loving sisters Adelyne (the late Joseph) Ignarski, Mary Jane (Doc) Schaeferle, and LaVerne (Mike) Podgorski; dear nieces and nephews; cherished great and great great nieces and nephews; and companion Mary Stepien. She was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Mary Chmielowski, and her sister Loraine Chmielowski. In lieu of flowers, Masses can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital.
