Virginia Parkin

July 9, 1936 — May 10, 2016

Virginia M. Parkin, 79, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May

10, 2016 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. She was born on July 9,

1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Margaret (nee DiGiore) Stout.

Shortly after graduating high school in 1954 from Harrison Technical High School in South Lawndale, Chicago, Illinois, Virginia began a career in modeling. She was quickly discovered and hired as a Bunny. It was during this time that she met the man she would eventually marry in January of 1963. In 1966 she had her first child, with two more to follow in later years. She enjoyed spending time with family and all of the friends she met throughout her life. Her hobbies included bowling, playing Bridge, dancing, entertaining, and sitting out in the sun working on crossword puzzles. She could be found just about any weekend cheering loudly during either her children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also an avid Chicago sports fan and devoted member of St. Thomas church for over 40 years.

She will be deeply missed by her loving children Sean (Kristin) Parkin, Nicole (Jerry) Lalka,

Danielle (Rebecca) Parkin McMillan and her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Libby and Ryan

Parkin and Allyson Kamrat. She is survived by her two brothers Joseph (Louann) Stout and

William (Rose) Stout and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by

her parents Joseph and Margaret Stout.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday August, 13th at St. Thomas Church with a

Celebration of Life picnic immediately following at Veteran Acres Park, both in Crystal Lake. All

friends and family are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
