Virginia Spence

Barrington, Illinois,Virginia "Ginny" Lillian Spence, 93, of Barrington, formerly of Naples Florida, passed away, April 16, 2011, in Barrington, IL. Ginny was born to Carl and Evelyn (nee Deckrosh) Biede in Chicago, IL, on June 23, 1917. She grew up in Chicago and married Bill, her husband of over 50 years, at North Austin Lutheran Church in Chicago. After having 4 children, Ginny and Bill moved to Inverness for 14 years and Ohio for several years before settling in Naples, FL. Virginia was living in Barrington at the time of her death. She was quite artistic and enjoyed painting, needlepoint, dancing, bridge and playing the organ. Her survivors include her loving children, William Jr. (Pam) Spence, Barbara (Howard) Teegen, Donald (Linda) Spence, and Janet Spence; Grandchildren, Chris (Tracie) Spence, Greg (Kelli) Teegen, Julie (Jon) Hassert, Ashley Spence, Brian Spence, Donny Spence, and Kyle Spence; Great-Grandchildren, Kylie Spence, Jaiden Spence, Ella Teegen, Molly Teegen, Maddie Hassert, Avery Hassert, and Hailey Hassert. She is preceded in death by her husband William Sr. Spence; parents; brothers, Roger Biede and Elmer Biede, and grandson Billy Spence. Ginny will be laid to rest at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL, during a private service.
