W. Reed Captain

W. Reed Captain, 59, of Barrington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on September 10, 2016 at JourneyCare in Barrington. He was born August 12, 1957 in Englewood, New Jersey to William H. and Betty (nee Hayden) Captain.
Reed, as he was known by all, was the proud business owner for 26 years with his wife of R-CAP Process Equipment, Inc. where they sold food processing equipment. Prior to that, he was the national sales manager for Groen, which manufactured large stainless steel tanks & kettles for the food industry. He was an avid skier and boater and shared the love of his hobbies with his family. Reed also loved riding his road bike and loved cars.
Reed will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Meg (nee MacKimm); his children, Luke and Lauren Captain; his mother; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Melissa (Randy) Bozarth, Jim (Suzanne), Mark (Belinda) MacKimm and Elizabeth (Bradley) Shee; mother-in-law, Marylou MacKimm; nieces and nephew, Jessica, Allie and Douglas MacKimm. He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 10 Am until the 12 Noon Celebration of Life service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010.
