Walter C. Lambert, 97, formerly of Park Ridge and Lake Barrington, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care Center, Arlington Heights.
He was born January 4, 1916, in Chicago to the late Curtis and Effie (nee Wishart) Lambert, and attended the University of Illinois at Champaign. Mr. Lambert served in the First Army during WWII in the European Theater, and went on to work for Commonwealth Edison. He retired as a manager from ComEd after a 40-year career.
He was a member of Kiwanis, Rotary, American Legion and the VFW. Mr. Lambert was an avid golfer and enjoyed dancing with his wife, Louise.
Survivors include his sons, Richard C. Lambert of Schaumburg and David (Judy) Lambert of Palatine; and grandchildren, Brian (Meghan) Lambert of Milwaukee and Katie (Joe) Weaver of Cary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ann (nee Uehrke) Lambert.
Services will be private.
