Wayne Christensen, 84, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side early Saturday morning, May 3, 2014. He was born on November 25, 1929 in Norwood Park to the late Christian and Rosemary.
He was a graduate of IIT in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering. On November 13, 1965, he married Betty Sewell in Slidell, LA.
Besides his wife, Betty, Wayne is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Douglas) Gale; grandchildren, Dustin (Maggie), Christi, Jonathan, Lonny, Larry, and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 4-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home at 1pm with a brief prayer at 1:30. Funeral service will follow at 2pm at the Crystal Lake Evangelical Free Church, 575 E. Crystal Lake Ave. Burial will be at Crystal Lake Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Wayne’s name to Crystal Lake Evangelical Free Church.
