Wayne Edward Schennum

Wayne Edward Schennum, age 71, passed away on Monday August 16, 2021. Wayne was born in Elgin, IL on August 23, 1949.

On May 12, 1990, he married his loving wife, Susan. Wayne was a conservationist, biologist, ecologist, and naturalist who was very passionate about what he did. He was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Susan L. Schennum (nee Board); brother, Warren Paul (Donna Grace) Schennum; nephews, Brian Paul (Rebecca) and Chad Edward (Jessica) Schennum; great-nieces, Hadley and Lily; and greatnephews, Micah and Noah.

A Memorial service will be held on September 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main, Barrington, Illinois. Masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy, McHenry County Land Conservancy, and the McHenry County Conservation Foundation.
