Wendell G. Pearson, born December 14, 1928 in Chicago to Gotfrid and Hannah (nee Anderson) Pearson, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, surrounded by his loving family in the home that he built in Barrington in 1985.
Wendell was a talented carpenter and craftsman. He also enjoyed motorsports, especially stock car racing. Wendell loved Chicago sports teams, the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks. Later in life, he became an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Gary (Alison), Wendy DiMaria, and Holly (Steve) Rivera; his grandchildren, Nicholas DiMaria (Jill), Denise (Sam) Scianna, Kelly (Sean) Pliska and Michael Pearson; his great grandchildren, Francesco and Santino Scianna, and Natalie and Colton DiMaria; and many relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Joan V. (nee Kwasigroch) Pearson, whom he married February 3, 1951.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10am until time of memorial service at 11am, Friday, September 4, 2015 at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the National MS Society, Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 W. Monroe St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60661.
