Wendy L. Stefan (nee Jurs), 50, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her home.
She was born September 9, 1962 in Elgin to the late Ronald Jurs and Sue Ann (nee Tessendorf) Brenizer. Wendy married Albert “Al” Stefan on May 11, 1985 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake.
Wendy was a breast cancer survivor and fought ovarian cancer for the past six years. It was a milestone, for Wendy, to celebrate her 50th birthday.
Wendy was a very strong Christian and a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), loved to read and crochet, enjoyed spending time in Door County, and loved her schnauzers, Abbi and Kati (Wendy was preceded in death by her schnauzer, Heidi).
In addition to her husband, Al, Wendy is survived by her sons, Jacob Stefan and Kurtis Stefan; sisters, Christie (Jeffrey) Pfeiffer of Crystal Lake and Amy (Dennis) Blom of Arvada, CO; nephews and nieces, Matthew and Nicole Pfeiffer, Eric and Luke Feetterer, Carl Blom, Michael Danilovich, Kristi Bruns, and Dana and Steven Petzel; father and mother in-law, Karl and Eva Stefan of Arlington Heights; and brother and sisters in-law, Michael Feetterer of Crystal Lake, Susan (Andy) Danilovich of Cary, Linda (Brian) Petzel of Carol Stream.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Holly Feetterer.
The visitation will be Sunday, September 16, from 2-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, and Monday, September 17, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wendy’s name may be made to The Stefan Children Educational Fund, c/o Home State Bank, N.A., PO Box 1738, Crystal Lake, IL 60039-1738.
