William “Bill” Baxter Bowen, 82, long-time resident of Barrington, entered into eternal life, Sun. Oct. 27, 2013, at his home.
Born on Jan. 23, 1931, to Margery and Guy Bowen, Bill grew up on the North side of Chicago and graduated from Loyola Academy. He went to Washington State University where he played football and was a Sigma Nu. Bill was a Catholic, devoted husband, loving father and beloved grandfather. He remained active with Loyola Academy Alumni and his St. Anne’s men’s prayer group.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Bowen (nee Keegan); children, Beth (Dennis) Cloud, Bill Bowen, Michael (Katie) Bowen, and Margery (Chris) Parsell; grandchildren, Katie and Joseph Cloud, James, John, Brooke, Patrick and Sophie Bowen, and Katie, Chloe and Max Parsell.
Visitation 4-8p.m., Fri., Nov. 1, 2013, Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington.
Mass of Christian Burial, 11a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, visitation one hour prior to mass at church.
Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic cemetery, immediately following the mass.
