William “Bill” Chapman, 80, of Barrington, passed away, March 18, 2013, in Arlington Heights.
He was born on January 19, 1933, to Earl and Janet Chapman in Waterloo, Iowa.
Bill was a quiet and soft-spoken man who God blessed with the ability to understand and analyze numbers and financials. Throughout his professional life Bill used these gifts to support non-profit organizations. Through his diligence Bethany Methodist Home and Hospital, the Lutheran High School Association, and Healthcare Alternative Systems were all better positioned financially to provide care to those they served.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lois; children, John (Cathy) Chapman and Ann (Richard) Lewis; grandchildren, Luke Chapman and Joshua Chapman; sister, Mary (Robert) Johnson; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Earlene Hesse.
Visitation will be held from 4-8p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington, IL 60010.
Funeral service will be held at 10a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Ave., Barrington, IL 60010, where there will be a second visitation held one hour prior to the service at church.
Burial will be held at Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IL following service.
