William Bryant Evans III, 81, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Born in Chicago on March 27, 1943, to William and Agnes (Stahnke) Evans, William proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A loyal man who was much loved by his family, William was known for his quiet demeanor and reserved nature. He wasn’t a talker—he was a doer. His mind was always active, and more often than not, he acted upon his ideas, creating many useful and unique things. He prided himself on being a problem solver, using his ingenuity and resourcefulness to tackle challenges. A talented craftsman with a passion for carpentry, he had a gift for construction, rehabbing properties, and building maintenance. He had a knack for fixing anything and was always ready to lend a hand.
For over 20 years, he cherished spending winters in Mexico with his beloved wife, Kay, where they created countless treasured memories together.
William is survived by his wife, Kay; their children, Bill Evans and Brian Evans; and his siblings, Judy (Bob) Fischer, Mike (LeaAnn) Evans, and John (Debbie) Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy Bijanowski.
A private celebration of William’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Tunnels to Towers, an organization close to his heart.
