William Faber

William Cornelius Faber of Crystal Lake died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Bickford Home. He was born March 11, 1923, in Chicago to John D. and Irene Faber.

He graduated from St. George Academy in Chicago and attended classes at Loyola University. Bill was a Navy pilot, flying Seaplanes over the Pacific during WWII. He was a sales rep for several fabric wholesalers. He coached sports for his sons’ high school and later for adults. He was an avid sportsman playing basketball and tennis well into his eighties. Bill also loved to dance and travel with his wife.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Jacklyn (Quinney) whom he married in 1993; children, William C. (Frances) Faber, Jr., Thomas Faber, Mary Faber, Marian (Michael) Weaver, Charles (Julie) Quinney, John (Terri) Quinney, Christopher, David, and Matthew Quinney, Amy (Clayton) Vowels; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Eleanor) Faber, Gwen Faber and Sheila Faber; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colette; siblings, John Faber, Donald Faber, Marcella Klawitter, and Jean (Robert)Theiss.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6th, from 4-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue on January 7th 10am until the time of funeral mass at 11am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 2918 S. Country Club Rd, Woodstock, IL 60098. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
